Beijing Highlander Digital Technology Co., Ltd. (Highlander) was registered and established in 2001, became a naval equipment supplier in 2004, and was listed on the ChiNext Board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in March 2010. With complete military-industry qualifications, it is a national-level Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative “Little Giant” enterprise. The company’s major shareholders include the founding team, Hainan state-owned capital and other social capital, with no foreign investment or foreign ownership background.

For more than two decades since its establishment, the company has been deeply engaged in the marine high-tech sector. Guided by the strategy of building China into a maritime power, it actively responds to the national call to develop and strengthen the ocean through technology, upholding the mission of “exploring the ocean and serving national defense” while striving to become a global leader in intelligent navigation and an innovative practitioner of Smart Ocean in China.

Highlander has been selected for Forbes China's 2018 Most Promising Companies list and the defense industry list of the Military Industry Committee of the China Association for Public Companies. In 2025, the company had more than 500 employees and an output value of nearly RMB 800 million.

The company places strong emphasis on independent R&D and innovation. To date, it has developed a series of core independently controllable technologies in radar, intelligent navigation and Smart Ocean, obtaining 175 patents and 142 software copyrights. In 2021, the company won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Due to its capabilities in marine technology, the company and its subsidiaries were added to the U.S. Department of Commerce Entity List in 2022.

Intelligent Navigation
Providing vessels with navigation equipment, engine-room automation, vessel intelligence and information systems.
Major Marine Equipment
Core equipment for building a three-dimensional ocean observation network, including subsea junction stations,
manned atmospheric diving systems (allowing ordinary users to dive to 610 meters), marine instruments and more.
Underwater Data Center (UDC)
As the first provider in China and one of only two worldwide offering underwater data center services, Highlander leads the formulation of industry standards, holds more than 100 related patents, and has advanced underwater data center technologies and industrial-chain integration capabilities. It provides full-chain services from data center planning, design, construction and operation to data center colocation and outsourced IT management and operations.
